Crista Orefice and Alan Semok
A classically trained vocalist and performer, Crista integrates her lyric soprano voice into pop and folk-style cover tunes. Crista’s musical influences range from Classical, Broadway, Folk and Pop genres. A singer/songwriter and music therapist from northern New Jersey, Crista has performed in numerous concerts and musical productions in both New Jersey and New York. Crista has a previous background in musical theater, including Off-Off-Broadway credits. Crista currently performs at restaurants, cafes, and events in the metropolitan area as a soloist with "The Crista O. Trio," and with her newest musical duo act, "Sweet & Sassy."
A veteran actor, comedian, and artist, Alan has been entertaining audiences on stage, screen, and television for a half century (often with a little help from his pals “Eugene” and “Laszlo” and a little bit of vocal magic).
Over the course of his long career (which began as one of the VonTrapp kids in a production of The Sound Of Music), he has appeared on all major television networks (as well as on HBO, Showtime, and Comedy Central) and in television commercials for products like Total, Raisin Bran, KFC, Wise Potato Chips, Wendy’s, Martinson’s Coffee, Comedy Central, and others.
He was a regular on the now classic PBS TV series SHINING TIME STATION as the voice of “Tex” in “The Juke Box Band.” Alan also portrayed Vice president Aaron Burr in“The Duel,”a special episode of the long running TV series AMERICAN EXPERIENCE.
On stage (in New York and in regional theaters around the USA), he has appeared in productions of Candide, Romeo & Juliet, The Sound Of Music, Paradise Park, Into The Woods, The Music Man, Sugar Babies, I Hate Hamlet, and others.
In addition to being an actor, musician, and an award winning ventriloquist, Alan is also a noted historian and teacher of the art and is an internationally known and much sought after designer and builder of the “dummies” and other puppets used by performers and in productions the world over.
Frequently called upon as a consultant for motion picture and television projects involving ventriloquism, he has served as a teacher of the art; his “students” have included Academy Award winners Adrien Brody and Kevin Spacey (both of whom he personally coached for their film portrayals involving ventriloquism and puppetry).
A 1975 graduate of Rutgers University, he was also presented with an honorary Ph.D in Fine Arts by Buena Vista University in May 2007.
